Black Shark 5 Pro | Unboxing & Gaming Review

Unboxing Xiaomi’s Black Shark 5 Pro, with a hands-on review of the gaming features and performance with Genshin Impact etc. One of the best mid-range gamer smartphones just got better with this 2022 upgrade, although the Black Shark 5 Pro isn’t a huge evolution over last year’s model. Here’s a closer look at the Shark Space UI, specs, camera tech and other bits.

As you’d hope from a powerful gaming phone, this handset can cope with Genshin, PubG, Call of Duty Mobile, everything you throw at it. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 handles it all, while the Black Shark 5 Pro doesn’t heat up to a troublesome degree thanks to the dual vapor chamber design. You also get that Shark Space UI, packed with great game tools, and dedicated shoulder buttons.

However, it isn’t quite as impressive as the ROG Phone and Red Magic rivals in some areas. The display’s selfie orifice, lack of expandable storage, no headphone jack and mediocre battery life are some of the issues I found while testing out the Black Shark 5 Pro. All the same, it’s packing some solid specs and the price ain’t bad.
