The Huawei Mate 50 series including Pro and Porsche Design models are just three of the new phones launched this week! Motorola also spaffed out three new smartphones, the Moto Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo, offering a range of specs and camera hardware. And yes, Apple accidentally re-released last year’s iPhones again, hooray.
The Huawei Mate 50 Pro looks like a stunning phone boasting slick camera tech, although also the same ugly notch as the iPhone 14. The regular Mate 50 tames the specs a little with a more basic telephoto shooter and smaller battery. However, you still get a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 running the show. And for rich gits there’s the Porsche Design Mate 50 Pro.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra serves up a 200MP camera, which can shoot using 12-in-1 pixel binning. There’s 125W wired charging and wireless charging too, plus a gorgeous OLED screen, that same Snapdragon chipset as the Huawei Mate phones and solid specs. For less cash there’s always the Moto Edge 30 Neo, a compact phone similar to the Xiaomi 12 but less powerful and with wireless charging. Then the Fusion is a straightforward mid-range handset, nothin special.
