Those optics are obviously one of the most headline-grabbing features on the Edge 30 Ultra, but are they really all that? I’ve been testing for over 24 hours now and so far this is a capable camera phone, one of the better in 2022 for low light shooting. Everyday performance is slick thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Likewise, gamers will enjoy smooth playback on Genshin Impact, PubG and other intensive Android titles. Motorola has also added in dedicated gaming tools, to help give you the edge.

Battery life and the everyday experience will be covered in a week’s time, but for now the Moto Edge 30 Ultra is looking like a strong option for anyone after a stock Android flagship smartphone. Ahead of the Pixel 7 launch, that is.
