Is this one of the best budget(ish) phones of 2022? It’s released on March 4 for a UK price of £349, or £299 on day one!

One of the highlights of this handset is that IMX766 Sony camera sensor, which can capture crisp, colourful everyday shots plus 4K video. Here’s some early samples but I’ll be testing out the optics fully ahead of my in-depth Realme 9 Pro Plus review.

Gamers may prefer the Redmi Note 11 Pro, as the likes of Genshin Impact struggles on this Dimensity platform. However, PubG and CoDM and other popular Android titles play with a perfect frame rate.

Battery life is solid too. The Realme 9 Pro Plus can go all day on a single charge thanks to the 4500mAh battery, energy efficient SoC etc. Media fans should also love the 6.4-inch AMOLED screen which boasts 90Hz support like the OnePlus Nord 2.
