Comparing the Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship smartphone vs the S21 from last year, to see how the camera tech, gaming chops, battery and other specs have been upgraded (or otherwise). My full unboxing and review will be hitting soon!

The new Samsung S22 boasts a fresh 50MP camera sensor, updated Dynamic AMOLED screen and could be one of the best mini phones of 2022. However, that battery has shrunk compared with the S21, and we’re yet to see if the Exynos 2200 can cope with Genshin Impact and other intensive games.

Both Galaxy phones serve up OneUI 4.1 on top of Android 12, and very similar camera modes. However, that updated primary sensor should allow you to shoot better photos in low light conditions, similar to the Pixel 6. That design is more premium as well as more compact, so the Samsung Galaxy S22 is one for those with smaller hands. As well as those who can’t afford the Plus or Ultra models.
