These are supremely powerful smartphones, capable of handling Genshin Impact on top settings, while the camera tech is among the best of 2022. Here’s my hands-on coverage with the Xiaomi 12 and my unboxing of that Pro model is also live!

In many ways, these phones are very similar. They both pack a punch, they offer the same MiUI 13 software experience and they’re great for a bit of Netflix. However, while the Xiaomi 12 is pleasingly compact (with a nicer if still quite high price), the Pro is an absolute beast.

They both offer a high-end camera experience, despite using a different camera sensor (the IMX766 on the standard global model, vs the IMX707 on that Pro). Low light performance in particular is impressive stuff. Gamers will love smashing through Genshin with a stable frame rate, thanks in part to the effective cooling tech. My only main grumble is the battery life, which isn’t the best around.
