The Xiaomi 12s Ultra and its three slightly less thrilling siblings, the 12s Pro and regular old 12s, are the biggest smartphones launched this week. The Xiaomi 12s Ultra boasts next-level camera tech thanks to its Sony IMX989 one-inch sensor, plus that new Leica lens hardware. This should pump out incredible low light photos and video, but don’t hold your breath on an unboxing or review as it’s not set to hit the UK any time soon.
The Xiaomi 12s Pro looks very similar to the original 12 Pro, except with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 upgrade. And the smaller model is once again proper compact, now with improved camera tech (the same sensor found on the original Pro).
Other upgrades for the Xiaomi 12s Ultra include the water resistant finish (IP68), and a stunning LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen with QHD resolution and fast refresh.
Here’s hoping they’ll be launched outside of China soon, but in the meantime we have Asus’ ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro to keep us happy. These are once again Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 blowers with loads of great gaming features and accessories to help you defeat obnoxious sniping chucklefaces in PubG etc.
