Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G Vs Pro vs Pro Plus | Camera, Gaming & More!

Comparing Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 5G vs the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro Plus, to see how the camera, gaming, battery tech and other specs stack up. Which mid-range Xiaomi smartphone is best for you, and is the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G worth that extra cash?

Here in the UK these mid-range phones are priced at £279, £339 and £449. Check out my unboxing and review of the Pro Plus for more thoughts! I’ll also be updating my round-up of the best mid-range mobiles soon for 2023.

Starting with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G, this feels like a very different phone to the others. Performance is more limited with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, although gaming is still possible, while the 48MP camera is rather basic. Apart from the AMOLED screen, there’s not much to raise it above other budget phones, and expandable storage (plus the brighter display) is its major advantage in this comparison.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Pro share more DNA, with a glass design, Dolby Vision display, stereo speakers and Dimensity 1080 gaming chops. However, the Plus edition serves up a 200MP HPX camera sensor, while the regular Pro offers Sony’s IMX766. That’s still a great shooter, although not quite as good in low light.

So which Redmi Note 12 phone are you most tempted by?

Sell Your Laptop to Get the Most Out of It

These days, many Americans have switched over from being PC users to becoming big fans of Apple products. Many people find that Apple is just easier to understand so they don’t get lost trying to figure out how to use their own computers, and people enjoy not having to worry about computer viruses. A lot of people own Apple laptops, but for some people, laptops are no longer quite necessary. With the release of Apple’s iPad, some people are finding that a small tablet computer meets all of their needs, so they are left trying to figure out what to do with their old Apple laptops. Apple products are of such high quality that they don’t lose value as quickly as many of their PC counterparts do, which makes them perfect to resell. Even if your laptop seems too old to you or parts of it don’t work right, you can still sell it and make money because even things like an Apple laptop cable are quite expensive.

Replace Your Charger on the Cheap

There is nothing more annoying than having your laptop charger punk out on you. It seems like something that simply should not break. It is not like the technology required to charge a laptop is that advanced! And perhaps most frustrating of all is that wall chargers are not universal between PC computers. If you have a Mac, you are fine: all Macs use the same cords. But if you have a Dell laptop cable, it is not like you can just borrow the power cord from your friend who has an Acer. Worst of all, if your computer is a few years old, that specific Dell laptop cable might be out of production, which means it will be extra-expensive to replace.

“Death by GPS” and Other Hazards

Some police agencies are starting to use the phrase “Death by GPS” to refer to an increasing phenomenon in which people travel into hazardous areas (especially in very cold or very hot climates), following directions from their GPS, and get lost because roads that appear on the GPS are not actually passable or are closed. Tragedy can happen when a traveler runs out of gas or is caught in extreme weather conditions while lost.
